From a handful of rooms that need color, texture, or furnishings to full service design, Black Dove offers interior design services for residential and commercial projects. We have the experience and expertise to manage all operations from start to finish.
We offer these services personally in and around the Charlotte area; we’re also eager to travel and bring our work to you.

Our programming and project management processes allow us to work with you to discover that vision, determine your budget, and identify a clear path to reach your goals. As well, we eagerly serve as your project’s lead designer, owner’s representative, and project manager to coordinate schedules as well as people - from engineers and contractors, to vendors and suppliers.

In this stage, we take what we heard and learned about your vision in Discovery, and we get to work. We create a design concept. We plan space. We get you excited about concepts with mood boards, color schemes, key pieces. We seek your feedback on our design concepts to ensure this space is yours.
This is the phase where everything moves forward. We advance the revisions, the design, the drawings. We hone in on materials, color, fixtures, and construction methods before your final approval. Your feedback at this point is critical to how we move forward.
We want you to fall in love with what’s coming.
This phase is the heavy lifting - for us, not you. And we take it on with intention, energy, and expertise.
Upon your approval of the final architectural design, we take good care to start and organize all necessary construction documents in accordance with building codes to obtain the appropriate building permit(s). We finalize all drawings - from demolition to lighting; mechanical and electrical to plumbing.
We partner and collaborate with all local offices and local code jurisdiction on your behalf to obtain building permits. This is our final push before we build this thing.
It starts when construction documents are issued to contractors for pricing. It ends when we schedule interviews with contractors to help award a general contractor who is an appropriate fit for this project and your vision.
It all comes to life now. We invest our hearts, minds, and souls in this phase - we’re also not afraid to get our hands dirty. We partner with the General Contractor and hold weekly team meetings to ensure this vision comes to life effectively and efficiently.
We add all the finishing touches; installing all furniture, fixtures, and equipment, art and decor. We’re with you to the end - from running through the last punch list to taking care of the professional photography of your space.

Every choice made in Design Development - everything that needs to be designed, done, ordered - happens now. From creating purchasing orders, tracking orders, and assessing lead times, to collaborating with builders, vendors, fabricators, it happens here.
As well, all furniture, lighting, fixtures, art is shipped to our warehouse, and personally inspected, tagged, and stored by the team for install day.
This is the day; the day the vision comes together. The furniture is delivered, the draperies hung, the art installed. We do it all. It’s a beautiful crescendo of vision meeting reality for the first time ever.
The Project Reveal oftentimes happen on Install Day. It’s the big surprise for you. There’s no greater thrill and joy than seeing a vision fully captured and your story come to life.
We strive for perfection in the first go-around; but we know that a space will always need final, quick fixes to bring out all its beauty. We gladly come back to resolve these items efficiently and effectively, working through our final punch list and walkthrough.
Professional photography is the beautiful last phase; we come in, stage, and shoot your project. It’s fun and gratifying - for both us and the owner.
